NTCA Committees
NTCA Conference Planning Committee
The NTCA Conference Planning Committee plans the annual National TB Conference. Committee members work together to develop the theme, agenda, educational sessions, and social events. Currently chaired by President-elect Chima Mbakwem, the Conference Planning Committee meets two to four times per month from September/October through April/May.
NTCA/NTNC Corrections Committee
The mission of the NTCA/NTNC Corrections Committee is to improve TB recognition, prevention, and control in correctional facilities. Currently chaired by Krystle Mallory, the Corrections Committee meets four times a year to solicit the input of committee members for future areas of focus. The committee’s Education Work Group, also led by Krystle Mallory, then develops webinars, conference sessions, and resources. The Correctional Liaison Work Group is also under the Corrections Committee umbrella and, under the direction of Gary Trentman, the group works to identify at least one correctional liaison per jurisdiction.
Recent activities have included two webinars: Part 1: TB in Corrections: Why Should I Care? in September 2024 and Part 2: TB in Corrections: What Can I Do About It? in April 2025. In 2023 the Corrections Committee organized a session at the NTCA conference titled “RIPE for Release”.
NTCA Nomination Committee
The NTCA Nomination Committee members are appointed each year by the NTCA President and confirmed by the NTCA Board. The Nomination Committee prepares the list of qualified nominees to run as candidates in election for each open office and Board position.
NTCA Survey Committee
The Survey Committee is chaired by Marco Salerno, and its members consist of volunteers from TB control programs across the country with programmatic, clinical, and research experience.
Among other projects, the Survey Committee ensures that the survey requests are consistent with the mission of NTCA and benefit the TB control programs. Requests are reviewed by the Survey Committee then assigned to one of its members to coordinate. The Survey Committee, in conjunction with the entity who requested the survey, develops the survey and administers it electronically. Collection, analysis, and ownership of the data are determined prior to the survey.
Who can make a survey request?
Anyone can submit a request. Historically, requests have come from NTCA, TB control programs and staff from TB control programs, academic institutions, and external partners.
What types of information can be requested?
Requests for information should be for the purpose of improving TB programmatic practices and outcomes. Survey topics can range from, but are not limited to, current TB control practices, interest in participating in new initiatives, or obtaining information about emerging challenges, issues, and conditions related to the TB control.
How can I make a survey request?
Complete the Survey Request Form and send it to info@nationaltbcoalition.org.
