Raising Awareness
Annual Hill Day
Each spring, NTCA Board members and staff travel to Washington, DC, to meet with Congressional staff members about the continued presence of TB in our communities and what is needed to prevent and treat TB. On March 2-3, 2026, NTCA was proud to participate in this year’s TB Hill Day and advocacy training in Washington, DC. NTCA President and Tennessee TB Program Director Jason Cummins shared information on US TB programs with legislators, and this was the largest TB Hill Day with over 250 congressional meetings. Thank you to the offices of Congressman Chuck Fleischmann, Rep. Rosa DeLauro, Congressman David Scott, Congresswoman Julia Letlow, Congressman John Rose, and Senator Bill Hagerty. Thank you to our TB Roundtable partners and to all the people who showed up and volunteered their voices as constituents.
Support for We Are TB
In 2015, the first TB survivor communications training event was held in Atlanta, Georgia, co-located at the 2015 National TB Conference and conducted by Stop TB USA and NTCA. That inaugural class crystalized the importance of providing an opportunity for TB survivors to use their voices and their stories for advocacy, education, and peer-to-peer support. From this small group of survivors, We Are TB was launched.
NTCA is proud to continue to support We Are TB, a supportive community of TB survivors, people in treatment, and family members committed to the common goal of eliminating TB.
