TB Survivors
We Are TB is a supportive community of TB survivors, people in treatment, and family members committed to the common goal of eliminating TB.
We Are TB members:
- Are available to connect with those who have been diagnosed with TB or latent TB infection (LTBI), those currently under treatment for TB or LTBI, TB survivors and their families. We Are TB hosts free, confidential support groups in English and Spanish (Somos TB) online for people across the United States.
- Serve as advocates, raising awareness about TB, sharing their personal stories to educate and reduce the stigma of TB.
- Advocate for better diagnostic and treatment options; attend and present at regional and national conferences and speak to the media, representing those impacted by this stigmatized and misunderstood disease.
- Empower others, educate the public, and work to eliminate TB.
To find out more about how these TB survivors are using their voices and TB stories to impact change, see the We Are TB website.
For information in Spanish, see Somos TB.
We are TB and NTCA have been partners since the beginning of our organization. In 2015, the first TB survivor communications training event was held in Atlanta, Georgia, co-located at the 2015 National TB Conference and conducted by NTCA and Stop TB USA. From this small group of survivors, We Are TB was launched. For more, read about our journey on the We Are TB website.
